Rules of Sketty Scout Group Private Lottery

 

  1. The lottery is registered with City and county of Swansea.
  2. Individuals over 18 years of age are eligible to participate. You do not need a young person in the group.
  3. Individuals pay £2.00 or multiples of £2.00 per calendar month by electronic transfer into the nominated Sketty Scout Group bank account. The payment can be made at any time during the month. Checks will be made in the first few days of the following month. Each £2.00 paid entitles the payer to one entry into the lottery. No cash payments allowed. Ticket numbers will be allocated. When an individual leaves the lottery the numbers may be reallocated. Participants will be notified of their numbers.
  4. Prizes are awarded monthly. The draw shall take place three times per year at the Group Executive Committee meetings. Meetings are normally held in September, January and April.
  5. Only individuals with paid up contributions will be entered into the draw.
  6. Participants may withdraw at any time by cancelling their electronic transfer.
  7. Three cash prizes will be awarded each month. The amount paid out will be based on contributions each month. First prize is 20% of income, second prize 10% of income and third prize 5% on income. Winning numbers will be published on the group facebook and group website. No personal information e.g. telephone number ore-mail address will be shared.
  8. All prizes will be paid directly into the source account electronically as soon as practicable after the draw. No cash payments allowed. In cases of difficulty, reasonable attempts will be made to contact the winner, but if unsuccessful, the money will be added to the profits of the scheme.
  9. No bank account information will be stored on Facebook, group website or any individual laptops.
  10. The draws will take place three times per year at the Group Executive Committee meetings. Meetings are normally held in September, January and April.
  11. All profits to be used for the benefit of Sketty Scout Group.
  12. Any change to the rules to be agreed by Sketty Scout Group Executive Committee.
  13. Expenses from the scheme shall be deducted from the profits. Winnings will be unaffected. An example of a legitimate expense would be the registration fee with the local authority.
  14. The start date of the lottery is 1st June 2022.
  15. In case of dispute the decision of the Group Executive Committee is final.
  16. To join the scheme please complete the a Standing Order to be paid monthly.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
